Our Neighbor's House

One of our neighbors recently lost their home to a fire, and our entire neighborhood banded together to help them in their time of need. I organized a clothing drive and some other neighbors organized food donations and temporary housing. I was so humbled to watch our entire neighborhood jump in to help out, and it made me more thankful than ever that we live in such a wonderful area. It was devastating to watch our poor friends go through this terrible experience—one in which everything in their home was lost, and it made more thankful than ever that my husband and I have an alarm monitoring service. It seems like such an improbable thing, but my neighbors are living proof that disaster strikes every day. The neighbors have since told us that they wish more than anything that they’d had home monitoring of their own—it’s likely the authorities would have been alerted sooner and less damage would have been done. If there’s one thing I can recommend, it’s to check out home security systems online and sign up with a company as soon as possible.
